Puppy Play Date

Holidays Day 11: Ok so maybe Skittles isn't quite a puppy anymore, but he sure acts like it! I went out to play ball with him and we ended up wrestling! Unfortunately all the photos were way too blurry to bother posting!

Pretty at last

Holidays Day 10: after much of the year looking rather ordinary, my frangipani tree finally has flowers! Love coming out into the front yard to such pretty things.

Summer is upon us!

Holidays Day 9: It's starting to get VERY hot, a morning in the pool was definitely on the cards!

Tis the season

Holidays Day 8: With Christmas approaching I thought it was about time I started looking at some recipes, because we all know Christmas is all about food!

Cupcake Friday

Holidays Day 7: Another beach day, and perfect weather for it! We headed up the Coast for cupcake Friday and a BBQ by the water. The water was beautiful albeit large amounts of weed. On the plus side they made for much amusement in making moustaches!

Tourist

Holidays Day 6: Today Lete and I played tourist. We went in to south bank for breakfast and decided there was really some parts of south bank that we really hadn't experienced properly. For example I have walked through the cute little flowered walkway so many times, yet never taken the pretty tourist photo! Also, I had never gone on a city cat.

So today was the day. I got to take all my 'tourist' photos, we had brekky with a view, and got a lovely trip along the river. We had a great time on the city cat, until we realised our parking ticket was about to run out and we definitely would not be back in time! We jumped off at Hawthorne ferry terminal to catch one back, thankfully we didn't get booked!

Work with a view!

Holidays Day 5: Not all of holidays can be fun and games. Today... Work, at least it was work with a view!

Spontaneity

Holidays Day 4: An evening of spontaneity. Celebratory drinks were always the plan after touch footy, but the addition was a last minute trip to the movies at south bank. Possibly extremely under-dressed (in our touch jerseys), we jetted off to see Argo with a few friends from touch. A late but very enjoyable evening.

Fun and games - birthday style!

Holidays Day 3: Because my birthday was during exams, we decided to have an afternoon at the beach when everyone was finished. Due to some crazy weather, the beach was a no go. Although we had storms it was still a very hot day so we headed down to the park for a water bomb fight and a slip and slide on the tarp. The water bombs lasted about 5 minutes! The grass binging wet already from the rain made things VERY messy! Those of us who chose to be involved came home soaking wet and covered in grass. The rest of the evening was spent playing pool and chatting. A very enjoyable birthday with the best company.

Kitchen Tea

Day 2 of my holiday challenge and I realised I have already failed part of the task - taking a photo from today! So a big thank you to Steph who happened to capture the amusement of a friend's bridal kitchen tea! Toilet paper dress making provided some very creative moments, and some very un-creative moments!

Holidays challenge!

Holidays have finally begun!!! After a busy year, exams are over and there is time to do some of the more enjoyable things in life! This holidays I have set myself a challenge... to post a photo with a small blog each day of the holidays. This idea was inspired by a friend who not only manages to do this in the holidays, but manages to do it during semester, whilst studying medicine! So here is my first day, holidays day 1 - beach trip! A day of learning not to feel guilty about relaxing! And our first beach swim of the summer (spring).

Race you there...

Even before we were going out people told me that everything would always be a competition for Jossy and I. Recently I realised how totally and utterly right they are! I think they imagined us beating each other up, yelling at each other, keeping score… I’m pleased to say it isn’t quite that serious. But yes, for us most things are a healthy competition.
An example is our ‘health chart’, a record of how much physical activity we do and how much junk food we eat. My motivation is purely to do more exercise than him, but I know that if it’s close he’ll go out and smash a 10km run just to beat me for the week.
We never actually declare it, but we both just know that we’re competing. Driving home from somewhere in different cars, we take different turns to each other just so we can try and get there the fastest (without speeding of course).
For me it’s a great motivator! For him… well he just assumes he’ll win! But hey, a little healthy competition never hurt anyone right?

Our health chart - x's given according to intensity of physical activity!

Slurpeeee!

Personally I think they named it a 'Slurpee' so that pending the size you have and hence sugar consumption assumed, you can add e's accordingly! In which case tonight I had a Slurpeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Today was BYO cup day at 7eleven, meaning you can bring any size cup and fill it up for $2.80. How cool is that?! Lete and I decided this was an opportunity we could not miss. We didn't think it necessary to measure exactly how much cola slurpee we got in our tub, we just chose a large container and went with it! Thanks to Mum though, we are now aware that we had 2L... 1L each doesn't sound so bad right? Whilst being a crazy fun experience which I would highly recommend, the stomach ache and headache that followed were not so welcomed!

I haven't seen you in ages

For all those who haven't ever listened to Lady Antebellum, that is one of their songs... It's something our family does, there is a song for EVERYTHING! Maybe Grandma started it, but I definitely remember Mum being the biggest influence on Lete and I doing it. I remember some dinners where pretty much every sentence was sung, followed by fits of laughter!
Anyway, there was a point to this post... I haven't posted in ages! Originally I started this blog to clear my head a bit. I do love to write, and sometimes my head gets filled with these crazy spiels. Sometimes I wish I had some cool gadget that wrote down my crazy writing thoughts! So the intention for this was to be spontaneous and write when I had these little thought episodes. Clearly, it hasn't happened much! I blame having a busy life, but I know that's a terrible excuse. Thanks to the motivating blog of a friend though, I am back and feel I am about to go blog crazy, so stay tuned!

Something worth blogging about...

...that's what I was told when Jossy told me we were spending the day together for his last day of holidays. This was followed by a list of 'what to bring' and the promise that it would be something I would enjoy.

First stop was the beach! It was a perfect sunny day to be relaxing on the beach. Pretty sure reading was intended but we both felt too lazy to bother, instead taking in the lovely sun!

Next stop, Montville. For fear of being much too organised, it was decided that we would ask the locals the best place for a picnic. So after casually wandering the main street of cute little craft and coffee shops, we headed to Kondalilla National Park. Conveniently, there was a perfectly sized rock at the base of a waterfall, what a view!

Being his amazingly organised self, Jossy had packed a lovely picnic lunch which we enjoyed in the peacefulness of the park. Eating, chatting and just a little joking around, such a fun time!

Being cupcake Friday, we thought it fitting to get cupcakes to finish the day. On the way up we'd seen a stop with an amazing view, so it was back to there for cupcakes up a tree (just because we could!) before the trip home simply enjoying each other's company.

It was such a lovely day, with an amazing guy!
