Race you there...

Even before we were going out people told me that everything would always be a competition for Jossy and I. Recently I realised how totally and utterly right they are! I think they imagined us beating each other up, yelling at each other, keeping score… I’m pleased to say it isn’t quite that serious. But yes, for us most things are a healthy competition.
An example is our ‘health chart’, a record of how much physical activity we do and how much junk food we eat. My motivation is purely to do more exercise than him, but I know that if it’s close he’ll go out and smash a 10km run just to beat me for the week.
We never actually declare it, but we both just know that we’re competing. Driving home from somewhere in different cars, we take different turns to each other just so we can try and get there the fastest (without speeding of course).
For me it’s a great motivator! For him… well he just assumes he’ll win! But hey, a little healthy competition never hurt anyone right?

Slurpeeee!

Personally I think they named it a 'Slurpee' so that pending the size you have and hence sugar consumption assumed, you can add e's accordingly! In which case tonight I had a Slurpeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Today was BYO cup day at 7eleven, meaning you can bring any size cup and fill it up for $2.80. How cool is that?! Lete and I decided this was an opportunity we could not miss. We didn't think it necessary to measure exactly how much cola slurpee we got in our tub, we just chose a large container and went with it! Thanks to Mum though, we are now aware that we had 2L... 1L each doesn't sound so bad right? Whilst being a crazy fun experience which I would highly recommend, the stomach ache and headache that followed were not so welcomed!

I haven't seen you in ages

For all those who haven't ever listened to Lady Antebellum, that is one of their songs... It's something our family does, there is a song for EVERYTHING! Maybe Grandma started it, but I definitely remember Mum being the biggest influence on Lete and I doing it. I remember some dinners where pretty much every sentence was sung, followed by fits of laughter!
Anyway, there was a point to this post... I haven't posted in ages! Originally I started this blog to clear my head a bit. I do love to write, and sometimes my head gets filled with these crazy spiels. Sometimes I wish I had some cool gadget that wrote down my crazy writing thoughts! So the intention for this was to be spontaneous and write when I had these little thought episodes. Clearly, it hasn't happened much! I blame having a busy life, but I know that's a terrible excuse. Thanks to the motivating blog of a friend though, I am back and feel I am about to go blog crazy, so stay tuned!

Something worth blogging about...

...that's what I was told when Jossy told me we were spending the day together for his last day of holidays. This was followed by a list of 'what to bring' and the promise that it would be something I would enjoy.

First stop was the beach! It was a perfect sunny day to be relaxing on the beach. Pretty sure reading was intended but we both felt too lazy to bother, instead taking in the lovely sun!

Next stop, Montville. For fear of being much too organised, it was decided that we would ask the locals the best place for a picnic. So after casually wandering the main street of cute little craft and coffee shops, we headed to Kondalilla National Park. Conveniently, there was a perfectly sized rock at the base of a waterfall, what a view!

Being his amazingly organised self, Jossy had packed a lovely picnic lunch which we enjoyed in the peacefulness of the park. Eating, chatting and just a little joking around, such a fun time!

Being cupcake Friday, we thought it fitting to get cupcakes to finish the day. On the way up we'd seen a stop with an amazing view, so it was back to there for cupcakes up a tree (just because we could!) before the trip home simply enjoying each other's company.

It was such a lovely day, with an amazing guy!

Old friends, new friends and somewhere in between

This last little while I've really been enjoying spending time with a number of different people. I've realised how much I love the variation... the old friends I've known all through high school, the new friends I've been making in the last few months, and all those who I've known along the way. So blessed to have all these ones around me.

It's the little things that count...

Sometimes, it's the little things that count... A nice coffee, a stunning sunset, a sweet little flower or a delicious cupcake. These are just some of my favourites of late!
